The Most Important Decision

How to Know Christ as Your Savior

This page exists for one reason — to help you understand the most important decision you will ever make, and to walk with you through it.

You Don't Have to Have It All Together

Maybe you've been searching for something — a sense of purpose, peace, or forgiveness you can't quite find. Maybe someone shared this page with you and you're not sure what to think. Maybe you've been in church your whole life but never made faith personal.

Wherever you're starting from, this is a safe place. God meets people exactly where they are. The steps below are drawn from the Bible — often called "The Romans Road" — and they lay out the heart of the gospel in plain, honest language.

The Romans Road

Four Steps to Salvation

01

Recognize Your Need

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Romans 3:23

The Bible is honest about the human condition. Every one of us has made choices that fall short of God's perfect standard — not just big moral failures, but the everyday self-centeredness that separates us from a holy God. This isn't meant to condemn you. It's meant to show you why you need what only He can give.

02

Understand the Consequence

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 6:23

Sin carries a cost — spiritual separation from God, both now and eternally. But notice the second half of that verse: it's a gift. God didn't leave us in that condition. He made a way.

03

See What God Did

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 5:8

You didn't have to clean yourself up first. You didn't have to earn it. While we were still far from Him — still in our sin — Jesus went to the cross. He took the punishment we deserved so that we could receive the forgiveness we don't deserve. That's grace.

04

Respond in Faith

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Romans 10:9

Salvation isn't a ritual or a checklist. It's a response — a turning of your heart toward God, a trust that Jesus is who He says He is and did what He said He did. It begins with a sincere, simple prayer of faith.

A Prayer of Faith

Pray This from Your Heart

There are no magic words. What matters is that you mean it. If this prayer reflects the desire of your heart, pray it sincerely — and trust that God hears you.

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I turn from my sin and I invite You into my heart and life as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Help me to follow You from this day forward. Amen."

You Can Be Sure

The Assurance of Salvation

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."

— 1 John 5:13

Salvation is not based on how you feel on any given day. It is based on what Jesus did — and His work is finished and complete. You can know, not just hope, that you are saved.
